Down on the farm 95 last month 10/26

We flew the Klemm to the Shoreham airport vintage fly-in, we had a fairly late slot but pulled it forward as the weather was due to deteriorate at 2.00 pm. We got there and had tea and cake provided. A fair number of visitors were put off by the weather forecast and did not show, we had 2 military cubs, a Tiger, a beautiful Miles and a Rapide.

We dragged it out and ran the engine for about 30 mins in all but it was too windy to do taxi trials. We hope to do that this Friday.

The transponder is still not working and it was sent back to Mendelsshn’s and now it has gone back to Funke in Germany and I await their reply. I had a letter back from the LAA with a list of requirements which I have waded through and have to go back with and all the signatures and this will add another couple of hundred weight of electronic text to the pile.

October Strut Meeting: Talk by Sheldon Holy

Last month’s Strut Meeting at the Downs School, Hassocks was well attended for a brilliant talk by Sheldon Holy. He is a young pilot who recently flew solo, via Alaska to Oshkosh and back in his homebuilt RV6. An amazing achievement with lots of adventure on the way.

Xmas dinner 2026

I had positive feed back about last years Christmas dinner so have repeated the process.

I have booked the White Horse in Steyning for 7.30 on the 2nd of December at 7.30 pm. See the menu and tell me (Tony P) your requirements or do it online here: Christmas Dinner Booking.

Members listed on the recent email have paid £25 for subs this year and this will be taken off of the bill. You have the option of coming to Novembers meeting at the Long Shore and paying £25 or if you pick your Christmas meal, as many courses and meals as you want and then transfer the funds to the club as I have to pay a deposit for all ordered meals.

Orders must be placed by 11th December!
